40th Quebec Open 2016


This past weekend 11 Nova Scotia athletes participated in the 40th Quebec Open 2016 which is a selection tournament for the Canadian Open Championships 2017 for the U16, U18, U21 and Senior divisions;

The Quebec Open is well attended event with over 1000 competitors registered. Sierra Tanner competed in the U18 division and came out with a Bronze medal. Alex Hennebury had some tough fights in the tournament and ended up with a Bronze medal in the U18 division.Abbigail came out on top earning a Gold medal in the U16 division.

2016 Canadian Open Championships

Judo Nova Scotia had six athletes competing at the Canadian Open Nationals this past weekend; Luke Goulding, Gary MacMullen, Max Teeuwen, Nick Doucette, Alex Hennebury, Sierra Tanner and Abbigail McCullough.

The team performed very well with Sierra bringing home a Bronze medal in the U16 F63 category and Abbigail bringing home a Bronze medal in the U16 F70 category. 

Congratulations to Sierra and Abbigail and the rest of the team for their great performances!
